Starting deduplication
In addition to scheduling deduplication to run at a specific time, you can start deduplication immediately after creating a volume.
Steps 
1.
From the Home tab, double-click the appropriate storage system to display a subtree of management features.
2.
Click Storage > Volumes.
3.
Select the volume for which you want to start deduplication.
If deduplication is enabled for the volume, the toolbar contains a Deduplication menu.
4.
From the Deduplication menu, click Start now.
System Manager displays a confirmation dialog box.
5.
Select whether you want to run deduplication on the entire volume data or on the incremental data that was added after the last deduplication ran, then click OK.
